Almost There!

I am almost done with my sophomore year of college! WAHOOOO!! However it really is becoming a struggle for me to finish....I just want to be home enjoying my family and relaxing before I head off to work at camp for the summer! I really am struggling to find motivation to get things done, so it is a good thing that I got a lot done ahead of time so I don't have to worry about them now! All that I have to do is 2 papers/presentations and then take finals! This seems wonderful but now I wonder what to do with all my time. It leaves me with a lot of bored time! Which makes me want to be home even more....AHHHHH its a never ending cycle!!!

The other night I was thinking and I decided that this summer I will use this blog to write about the different things God is doing up at camp! I will write in it once a week (seeing as I usually only get a night off inbetween age groups!) and tell about my experiences with different kids and how God is working through me. This will give people (my mom and dad especially) a chance to see what I am up to and to be praying for different issues that arise during the summer! I would love it if you guys would be praying for me this summer as I reach out to kids!

Here are some of my favorite pics from last summer to give a little glimpse of what goes on!

There is a pinecone balancing on my head...Sweet isn't it?

Honey...I'm Home!!!

Hello world...it's me Kellyn. I am back in action after finishing three of my papers....only two more to go! Wahoo!

This past weekend, I had an awesome time! Friday night I went out with a big group of girls to see the movie 17 again! It was super cheesy but super fun to be out with the girls! I came back and then had to work from 12-2. Normally I hate that shift but I had lots of visitors who came to talk to me! It was overall a wonderful night!

Saturday was so pretty! The weather was wonderful! I started out the day being ordered out of my bed at 8 o'clock bright and early by my lovely roomie Brittany (what would I do with out her?) and then we headed with our floor to Spring Work Day. We ended up working with the Huntington County Concil on Aging. We went to different houses to give senior citizens important information. Don't ask me what the information was....because I have no idea! haha We had to wear these white hats...and for those of you who know me know that I don't ever wear hats! haha Brittany and I got hit on by a little kid and we woke up an old lady! Overall it was a successful Spring Work Day!
Here is Britt...super pumped to get going for Work Day! haha

Carrie is a little more pumped than Britt...just a little!

Me modeling the lovely white hats!

Then Saturday afternoon I went to Paige's Crossing with some girls from my floor and some boys from our brother floor! It was really fun. I was doing good in putt putt until the 12 hole and then it all went down hill! haha but oh well! The go-carts were really fun even though noone could really pass anyone because the course was so small! I would have cool pictures to put up here from the outing but Jordan hasn't given them to me yet! haha
After the putt putt trip I came back here and Carrie and I talked for like 2 and half hours. It was a really good talk. I love Carrie and it was good to get to know her even more! Then Beth Carrie and I went and rounded up about 15-20 people for a crazy fun game of Mafia! We played from likke 10:30-1:30ish. It was insanly fun! I was a bit sad though because the first game I was the first one killed!!(and for the record BETH was one of the Mafia!!! Beth, you better keep one eye open while you sleep...muhahahahah)

Sunday was a good Me-time day. I slept in and then went to Big Lots and Dollar Tree, which I love! I then came back here and read my book for a while and worked on some homework. Then at 8 a whole bunch of girls watched My Fake Fiance on abcfamily. It was a little cheesy but I still liked it! I also watched Two weeks Notice with carrie and Beth while eating Ramen. Yummy, anyone? Beth and I decided that next year in the apartment we should have Ramen and Romance night! Gotta love those mushy romantic movies! I know I do!

Monday and Tuesday felt like they dragged on forever! Now it is Wednesday, Earth Day! Go Plant a tree! Or enjoy the beautiful weather! Cassie, Emily, Erica, and I did just that! We went outside after lunch and flew my barbie kite! It took us a while to get it up in the air, but when she was finally up there Barbie flew wonderfully! Everyone who walked by us on the mall smiled at all the fun we were having! It is amazing how much a kite can brighten someone's day!

I know this post was really long but I wanted to make up for the week I didn't post! One last thought....While flying the kite today, it made me think about how I need to find more joy in everything I do! Sometimes I find my self complaining about stupid little things instead of finding the joy in those little things. So that is my challenge to myself and to you for this upcoming week. Find joy in all that you do! So help me with this and if you see me complain or groaning about school or something...remind me to choose joy!

I leave you with one of my favorite bible verses...
Psalm 118:24 - "This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it."

Tragic...so tragic...

Due to the amount of papers that need to be written and the amount of piano that needs to be practiced my blog will be empty for a llittle bit, but do not fear...i will be back in a week after I have at least gotten my papers done or started!

Never fear I will return (because I know all two of you who read this, beth and erica, were feeling very fearful haha)

Who stole the cookie from the cookie jar?

Last night I was still recovering from being sick (in fact I am still recovering!)...but after working at the desk from 4-6:40 I came back up here and started to watch Lie to Me on Hulu. If you haven't seen this show, you need to because it is awesome! It is about a firm that helps police solve cases by reading the suspects faces to see if they are telling the truth or not. It is really interesting and you should check it out!

Then I went to Dollar Tree and Taco Bell with Bradie and Brittley. Dollar Tree is such a great place! I could spend so much time in there looking at all the random crap....and it is only for a dollar! I got some apple juice, white cheddar SmartPop (which is amazing!), and some frebrezze (or however you spell it). Then we got Taco Bell and came back here and watched two hours of the top 100 80's One Hit Wonders! It was brilliant. I love 80's music! The top One Hit Wonder of the 80's is.....(drumroll)......Come on Eileen!
Side note: This is a picture of a dollar tree....however it is NOT a picture of the Huntington Dollar Tree!

Beth and I then made cookies! Just what I needed...they hit the spot perfectly! We made one big cookie with the last bit of dough! It was sweet! I didn't think that it could cook evenly but it did...so sweet.

Overall a fun filled Friday night at HU.....just goes to show you that you don't have to go out or spend a ton of money to have a good time...you just some good friends to chill with!
