Amazing Worship

So today in chapel the Beyond Idols Tour was there.  It was really  really good!  The worship was amazing!  One thing that I found myself doing was watching the band in the back.  It was amazing to see them playing their instruments with such joy and worshiping the Lord with everything they had.  I could see their passion for God shine through.

Be praying today for the girls that I work with through Upwards.  Cassie and I are presenting the Gospel message tonight at our practice.  Also be praying that God would speak through Cassie and I.

God Bless

Seventy-six Trombones.....

Today I subbed in the middle school band room! It's been a while since I was in the band room (6th grade if I remember correctly)! It was fun....I got to conduct the two sixth grade classes! That was interesting but fun. I also had to do two lunch duties (7th and 8th grade). Those were not as fun! During the 7th grade lunch, one kid got a bloody nose...it was pretty gross!

Even though I had fun at the middle school today....lets just say it also confirmed my decision to major in elementary education and special education! Middle School kids can be sassy!

Bon Appetit

Tonight I watched Julie And Julia...I loved it! I love cooking and found the movie charming. I then made cupcakes with homemade buttercream icing! I was in a cooking mood! So today I give you a picture and a quote from the wonderful Julia Child!

“Find something you're passionate about and keep tremendously interested in it.”

Just Haven't Met You Yet

So, as of late I have been feeling a bit down about my single status. Which I know is dumb because God has his own timing. Micheal Buble's new song has been having more than its fair share of playing time on my itunes! Enjoy the lyrics.....they make me feel somewhat at ease about being single!

I'm Not Surprised
Not Everything Lasts
I've Broken My Heart So Many Times,
I Stop Keeping Track.
Talk Myself In
I Talk Myself Out
I Get All Worked Up
And Then I Let Myself Down.

I Tried So Very Hard Not To Loose It
I Came Up With A Million Excuses
I Thought I Thought Of Every Possibility

And I Know Someday That It'll All Turn Out
You'll Make Me Work So We Can Work To Work It Out
And I Promise You Kid That I'll Give So Much More Than I Get
I Just Haven't Met You Yet

Mmmmm ....

I Might Have To Wait
I'll Never Give Up
I Guess It's Half Timing
And The Other Half's Luck
Wherever You Are
Whenever It's Right
You Come Out Of Nowhere And Into My Life

And I Know That We Can Be So Amazing
And Baby Your Love Is Gonna Change Me
And Now I Can See Every Possibility

Mmmmm ......

And Somehow I Know That It Will All Turn Out
And You'll Make Me Work So We Can Work To Work It Out
And I Promise You Kid I'll Give So Much More Than I Get
I Just Haven't Met You Yet

They Say All's Fair
And In Love And War
But I Won't Need To Fight It
We'll Get It Right
And We'll Be United

And I Know That We Can Be So Amazing
And Being In Your Life Is Gonna Change Me
And Now I Can See Every Single Possibility

Mmmm .....

And Someday I Know It'll All Turn Out
And I'll Work To Work It Out
Promise You Kid I'll Give More Than I Get
Than I Get Than I Get Than I Get

Oh You Know It'll All Turn Out
And You'll Make Me Work So We Can Work To Work It Out
And I Promise You Kid To Give So Much More Than I Get
Yeah I Just Haven't Met You Yet

I Just Haven't Met You Yet
Oh Promise You Kid
To Give So Much More Than I Get

I Said Love Love Love Love Love Love Love .....
I Just Haven't Met You Yet
Love Love Love .....
I Just Haven't Met You Yet

Sweater Clips, Anyone?

So, my new obsession is sweater clips! I love the show Glee and the character Emma Pillsbury can be seen sporting this super cute fashion trend. I am attempt to make one, but more on that in a later post! For now here are a few etsy finds that I love...

Here's to the Ladys who Lunch!

How great would it be to enjoy a light brunch with your best of gal pals, discussing (or some may call it "gossiping")the news of the town, and seeing and being seen! I would no doubt be channeling Jackie O with a timelessly styled suit and jacket. And a girl must never forget her pearls!

Nothing Cool to Talk about

So I am feeling like I have nothing really interesting to talk about today....so in light of this feeling I am going to redirect you to two of my favorite blogs!

The first one is called The Clothes Horse. This girl has amazing outfits that she puts together! Check it out...i love it and hope you do to!

The Second is similar and is called The Stylish Wanderer. Again this girl puts together amazing outfits! And I find her posts amusing!

These two blogs inspire me to turn up my personal style a notch and to not care what other people think of my style. I worry to much about what other people think, even though I try and put off the vibe that I could care less. So I guess my new years resolution is to step out of my style box and dress how I want to dress!

Heres to good fashion!

Bittersweet Awkwardness

So Today is the start of J-term at HU and as people head back to campus I am still at home. I chose to stay at home during J-term this year for several reasons. The biggest reason is that I am a semester behind my friends so I have the option of doing my multi cultural jterm practicum either this j-term or next j-term. I chose next j-term to do that so that I could stay home and try to earn some money doing substitute teaching. I am going to Ireland on a mission trip for a month this summer and I have to raise alot of support money to go! So Working during J-term seemed like the best option.

It is weird not being on campus for three weeks while everyone else is! I feel like I will be missing out on some much stuff. I won't be at the apartment for those random fun moments that seem to pop up all the time with my crazy awesome roommates! But I hope to visit quite a bit! And it is just three weeks! Plus alot of the girls will be really busy with their Multi Cultural! So hopefully I won't regret my decision!

Another new thing on my plate this semester is Upwards cheerleading! I know...I know.... those of you who know me are probably thinking "WHAT?!? has Kellyn ever done cheerleading in her life?!" Well you are correct! I am not a cheerleader nor have I ever been one! But I am enthusiastic and with the help of my co-coach Cassie (Cheerleader extraordinaire!) I think it will be a positive experience! I have had experience working with 3rd and 4th grade girls so I think I will survive! GO LADY TEAM CHEER!! (haha cheesy name I know!)

So that is all I have for today! Have a great day! I leave you with a quote from one of my favorite author:

"Most good things have been said far too many times and just need to be lived."
Shane Claiborne

I will be updating you all on what has been going on in my life since i've been gone from my lovely blog (even though the ones who read this already know all about me!) But for now I leave you with a quote:

Far away in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow where they lead.
