So Today is the start of J-term at HU and as people head back to campus I am still at home. I chose to stay at home during J-term this year for several reasons. The biggest reason is that I am a semester behind my friends so I have the option of doing my multi cultural jterm practicum either this j-term or next j-term. I chose next j-term to do that so that I could stay home and try to earn some money doing substitute teaching. I am going to Ireland on a mission trip for a month this summer and I have to raise alot of support money to go! So Working during J-term seemed like the best option.
It is weird not being on campus for three weeks while everyone else is! I feel like I will be missing out on some much stuff. I won't be at the apartment for those random fun moments that seem to pop up all the time with my crazy awesome roommates! But I hope to visit quite a bit! And it is just three weeks! Plus alot of the girls will be really busy with their Multi Cultural! So hopefully I won't regret my decision!
Another new thing on my plate this semester is Upwards cheerleading! I know...I know.... those of you who know me are probably thinking "WHAT?!? has Kellyn ever done cheerleading in her life?!" Well you are correct! I am not a cheerleader nor have I ever been one! But I am enthusiastic and with the help of my co-coach Cassie (Cheerleader extraordinaire!) I think it will be a positive experience! I have had experience working with 3rd and 4th grade girls so I think I will survive! GO LADY TEAM CHEER!! (haha cheesy name I know!)
So that is all I have for today! Have a great day! I leave you with a quote from one of my favorite author:
"Most good things have been said far too many times and just need to be lived."
